Pharm Bisi Bright

Bisi Bright is a Consultant Clinical Pharmacist, Lecturer and Public Health Manager. She is 1st Vice Chairman and CEO of LiveWell Initiative LWI, a self- sustaining nonprofit healthcare social enterprise which is targeted at empowering populations across the spectrum with health literacy. Through its Academy, the organization has trained and mentored several pharmacy undergraduates and postgraduate students, as well as trained over 300 pharmacists, and medical doctors / nurses and public health practitioners in several short skills courses; sensitizing them to the roles of pharmacists in providing access to, and empowering them to improve the use of, medicines. In particular, Bisi served on the FIP Working Group on Maternal & Child Health and, the FIP Working Group on Patients as Partners. She was the FIP PI Exco for Africa & the Middle East, from 2008-2012.

A former Secretary General of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, Bisi sits on the Faculty of the Economist Conferences’ Healthcare in Africa. She has written over 100 published articles, some of which are in peer-reviewed journals and she has supervised over 15 Postgraduate project theses; the most recent of which is a co-supervision of a Doctoral Thesis at the University of Helsinki, Finland.

She is a two-time International Award winner of the IATDM/CT and a winner of other awards, local and international. Bisi is Deputy National Coordinator of the World Hepatitis Alliance WHA national chapter in Nigeria, and Assistant Secretary General of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria HFN. Her organization LiveWell Initiative LWI, has outreached over 1.5 million Nigerians and over 3,000 ghanaians with health literacy and empowerment, and has, in the process, assisted in improving medicines access through innovative drug distributive methods at the health outreaches.(pls visit www.livewellng.org)
