The award is open to individuals who must have a consistent history of contribution (meant for an entire body of work, not just a single achievement) over and above the call of duty throughout their career and also must have contributed throughout their life time to the development of the health sector.

LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

The award is open to individuals who:

  • Must have contributed throughout their life time to the development of the health sector.
  • Must be above 65 years of age.
  • Must have a consistent history of contribution (meant for an entire body of work, not just a single achievement) over and above the call of duty throughout their career.
  • Must have an exceptional contribution to the profession and development of medicine and its science in Nigeria.
  • A significant impact being made on Regulatory Affairs and policy formulation in the healthcare sector.

 

Criteria

    • Consistency.

How has the individual made a consistent contribution to the profession, not just in performing their job function but over and above the expected call of duty?

    • Quality.

Demonstrate how the contribution over the career of the individual has been of truly high quality which has enhanced the practice of medicine and its allied field in general

    • Achievements.

Catalogue the achievements of the individual throughout their career as completely as possible.
Indicate any that were part of their employment if significant but stress those that were above and beyond the remit of that role.

    • Contribution.

Explain the nature and extent of contribution to the profession as a whole.

    • Impact.

Detail the impact of the achievements of this individual that have had a reach or longevity greater than would be expected?

OUTSTANDING STATE GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE PROGRAMME OF THE YEAR

Open only to State Governments.

Criteria

    • STRONG POLITICAL WILL

Must have demonstrated and implemented healthcare programmes that vividly showcase and elevate the tenets of democratic governance.

    • IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTH.

Programmes that focus on accessibility and restoring the dignity of targeted population, which consists of those previously disadvantaged in such population.

    • INNOVATION.

Programmes that demonstrate innovation and continued excellence in the health care industry.

    • STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT.

Must have increased and foster political buy-in to ensure the sustainability of such ventures.

    • REPLICABLE MODELS.

Succeeded in replicating such programmes in their community.

OUTSTANDING CSR HEALTH PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Open to multinationals and companies that are currently operating in Nigeria.

The Award

Is an effort to felicitate, amplify and publicize the efforts taken by the organized private sector with a “society-centered” purpose.

These good corporate citizens, who have risen above mere business profitability objectives, and have followed an integrated approach, displayed exemplary determination of sharing the benefits of growth with the society in general & enabling change in specific segments of the health sector facing neglect in particular will be felicitated.

The awards will also recognise efforts of conserving and building the sector for future generations.

The precise objectives of the award includes:

The issues should be relevant & largely unattended to.

Effort should be replicable in other geographies of the country/region/state not necessarily by the same company.

    • Sustainability (economic, social and environmental).

Effort should be socially acceptable and environmentally caring.

    • Finances.

The scale of budgets and the amounts spent on such projects are accounted for. The same shall also be compared with the overall organisational resource base & what in turn has been deployed in the noble cause.

    • Participation of people in planning, execution and monitoring.

Along with the scale of the operations, the number of people involved in planning, execution and monitoring of activities is considered. It should not be limited to a small contractual activity.

    • Innovativeness.

Approach to the project, ideas and incorporation of new ways to achieve common goals is also a major contributing factor.

HEALTHCARE FRIENDLY FINANCIAL INSTITUTION OF THE YEAR

Open to banks and financial institution that are currently operating in Nigeria.

Criteria

  • The award is given to financial institution that have created an inclusive business model that has led to the creation of sustainable, commercially-successful healthcare business entities that has expanded the access to healthcare service delivery in Nigeria.
